The
largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife
is a contrast of natural beauty
and modern purpose built resorts. The
island stands in the shadow of the
majestic Mount Teide, and boasts an
unrivalled range of scenery with pine
covered mountains rising up several
thousand feet offering spectacular views
of lunar style landscapes. Situated just
off the coast of North Africa, the
island offers year round sunshine and
wonderful long sandy beaches of both
golden and dark, soft volcanic sand.
Whether you seek lazy days on a sun
baked beach and long balmy evenings or
action packed adventure and boisterous
nightlife, Tenerife really does have it
all. |

Playa de las Americas |
|
Situated
on the south-west coast Playa de las
Americas is, without doubt, the most
famous coastal resort of the island.
Popular with young holiday makers and
families alike, Playa de Las Americas
has a lively atmosphere and an abundance
of pubs, clubs, and international
restaurants as well as an exceptional
range of first class hotels. The resort
boasts several gorgeous beaches of black
or golden sand and, protected by long
breakwaters, are ideal for sunbathing
and swimming. A long pedestrian
promenade stretches the length of the
resort whilst a mini-train runs around
town collecting eager sun seekers. With
a wide range of water sports and beach
games together with heaps of night time
entertainment, Playa de las Americas is
truly the fun capital of Tenerife.

Los Cristianos |

One
of the islands most popular resorts, Los
Cristianos is situated adjacent to Playa
de Las Americas. Arguably more
sophisticated than its neighbour, this
charming resort offers an outstanding
choice of international restaurants as
well as an excellent selection of pubs
and bars. Once a thriving fishing
village, the harbour remains the focal
point of the resort from where numerous
excursions, such as fishing and glass
bottom boat trips run. The promenade,
lined with pavement cafes and
restaurants, runs the entire length of
the resort whilst the delightful
man-made beaches are the perfect place
to relax and soak up the sun. All in
all, Los Cristianos is a relaxing town
with something for everyone and the
buzzing nightlife of Playa de las
Americas is just a few minutes away.
